Love✨

A Reflection of the Soul.

Does love feel different each time we experience it with different people in our lives? Does it carry the same weight for family, friends, pets, or even strangers who leave lasting imprints on our hearts? Some define love through material wealth, security, presence, or existence. But is love meant to be measured? Does it require conditions, or is it the one thing meant to flow freely—unburdened, limitless, and whole?

As we navigate life, we realize that love, in all its forms, is universal. No matter our background, culture, or experiences, we all long for love, endure heartbreak, and seek meaning in the connections we form. And yet, how we define love varies: Is it the act of forgiving over and over again? Is it reliving past mistakes or holding them against someone? Does love mean ownership—claiming parts of another as if their being belongs to us? Or does love flourish when we remove expectations and simply allow it to exist?

Love, for all its beauty, can come with fear—the fear of surrendering, of being seen, of opening the doors we locked shut to protect ourselves from past storms. If we have ever loved, truly loved, we know that love is not always easy. It is raw. It is vulnerable. It asks us to risk our hearts for something we cannot control. But perhaps love is not meant to be controlled. Perhaps love is a choice—to embrace, to nurture, to give without demand.

And at its foundation, love begins within. It starts with how we see ourselves and how we treat the reflection staring back at us. Can we honestly say we love ourselves? Do we love our flaws as much as our strengths? Do we appreciate the effort we put into each day, even when no one is watching? True love is not just found in another person—it is discovered in the way we honor ourselves.

So when you look in the mirror, remember this: You are the only you in this world. You were given this life with a purpose. You are meant to shine, to feel, to grow, to be. Your presence matters. The energy you bring into the world is uniquely yours, and the love you give—whether to yourself or to others—leaves an impact far beyond what you can see.

There will be days when you feel alone, unloved, unseen. But love is always there. It lives in the quiet moments, in the spaces between words, in the embrace of a friend, in the kindness of a stranger, in the resilience of your own heart.

You are not alone.

You are loved.

And most importantly—

You are loved.

Endless Journey✨

Why is a journey so significant? Firstly, a journey evolves us and equips us with essential tools along the way. It stimulates growth and broadens our minds to the inevitabilities of life. Who are we? Who do we aspire to be? How strong are we? How important is success? What is pain, what is love, and how do we keep pushing forward when we sometimes feel a loss of control? When overwhelmed by fear, anxiety, or daily stress, we must remember how far we’ve come despite the obstacles trying to derail us. We possess the internal tools needed to excel and achieve greatness on any path we choose. We can spread positivity and confidence by tapping into our emotional intelligence and being self-aware of ourselves and others. Recall those tough days when we found the resources to piece together a strategy and innovate our way back to the top. Stay focused on your journey, and remember, we possess the power and motivation to persevere.

Building A New Day✨

First, embrace determination; tackle obstacles with enthusiasm and the belief that you will prevail; giving up isn’t an option. Next, seek motivation by looking beyond your everyday tasks to identify growth opportunities. Keep your eyes on the end goal, establish minor objectives for yourself, and take time each day to reflect on your achievements, rewarding yourself for your creativity and sustained effort. Finally, pause to assess your life, recognize your personal growth, and your commitment to achieving balance. Be thankful for your mind and acknowledge your progress along with the supportive influences around you. After work, strive to connect with others, express affection, and remember that your life holds purpose. Regardless of the obstacles, they should not restrict your ability to enact positive changes in your life.

Change or Improve ✨

The question we often face is whether we should change or improve to align with the standards and ideals set by others. Throughout my journey, I’ve come to realize that while I may not fully transform myself, I can certainly work on enhancing certain aspects to foster connections with others and share my true personality. I believe that experiences and exposure to our environments may help to shape our personalities.

When confronted with challenges, setbacks, or even positive changes, my personality has adapted to these situations. This adaptability gives me the power to either welcome change or close myself off from new possibilities. At what point do we embrace who we are while also remaining open to actively listening and viewing things from perspectives beyond our own?

I believe this awakening begins each new day with a commitment to being open and engaging with our surroundings rather than letting them dictate our responses. By paying attention to our thoughts and also considering others’ views, we can question how these perspectives can enrich our lives or those of our friends. For our mental peace, it may not be beneficial to absorb everything, but we can gradually open ourselves to learning how to connect and improve who we are genuinely.

Though we may never completely change, evolution, time, and the start of each new day provide us the opportunity to rise again, determined to be better and more attuned to the lessons of yesterday. Let’s embrace this journey of growth, cultivate our strengths, and welcome new experiences with open hearts.

The Elephant in the room✨

I decided to step outside my comfort zone and go to the movies. For many of you, this is a typical and enjoyable experience. However, previous social media and news stories had significantly affected my enjoyment. I decided to give it a try, even if I felt anxious during the process. The experience was quite different from before; I could choose my seats and order snacks online, which I found really impressive. As I prepared, I felt a little nervous. Once I arrived, I looked through my email to find the barcode and showed it to the attendant. I was excited about the film. As I entered and made my way toward the snacks, I became overwhelmed by the sight of so many people who seemed happy and excited to see their movie that I began to feel panicked. I grabbed my snacks and headed to my numbered theater. Walking into the dimly lit theater and heading up the ramp, anxiety washed over me. I checked my phone to locate my seat. While waiting for the show to start, I turned into a detective—at least, that’s how I felt—scanning the room for anyone suspicious, especially those with backpacks or who seemed out of place. I tried to calm myself by enjoying the popcorn and the previews, but my gaze landed on two suspicious individuals. They were probably just as excited about the movie as I was, but I felt uneasy. I watched them from the corner of my eye, wondering if anyone would try to sit with them or if they appeared nervous or fidgety. For some reason, I felt compelled to plan an escape route in my mind if I needed to leave quickly. What was happening to my mind?  I should be just enjoying the moment. Fortunately, the theater filled up, and as more people sat near those I found suspicious, I felt relieved that others were watching them throughout the film, or so I thought.

As the movie played, I kept track of anyone heading to the bathroom. I totally just needed to stop. After some time, I started to feel better, enjoyed the film, and was relieved when it ended. I left feeling like I had survived the outing and even managed to talk about the enjoyable experience, letting go of my cautious instincts.

On the drive home, I questioned whether I was overreacting and if feeling this way in the theater was normal. When I got home, I checked the odds of something happening in a movie theater; they were as low as my chances of becoming a billionaire in the lottery tonight. Does anyone else ever feel this way? Has anyone stopped going altogether? I don’t want to feel like this, so I’m considering going more often to help overcome my fears. I genuinely enjoyed the experience once I calmed down, and it was great to hear people clapping and enjoying the film, offering a welcome break from being indoors. Do bad experiences really create a divide in enjoyment? Should there be security and bag checks, even though those checks might catch everyone who enjoys their snacks from home in their bags? Ultimately, we have the power to be resilient and pursue our passions, even in the face of anxiety. Let’s embrace those challenges, for when we conquer them, we will discover the joy and fulfillment that comes from following our hearts.

I was the elephant in the room.
